  on this forum, i have carefully read most of the experiences of those who left the jw religion, i have even read experiences that have dated back to 2001, i have read the different circumstances surrounding their exits and what ensued upon leaving.

  for the majority, i observed they are better remainning in the religion than leaving.

  what benefit is there to strain family relationship because you want to be free?, please tell me, of what value is that freedom?,.

  Mankkeli and NRFG, I think in your cases you should take your own counsel, leave this forum and stay in the organization.

  Just be sure not to tell anyone you frequent apostate forums.

  I saw this on another forum this morning; it lead to an interesting discussion with my counsellor this afternoon about physical abuse. I escaped the belt but my brother wasn't so fortunate. The cane was bad enough though.

  there are reports on one of the facebook ex jw groups that a 19 year old girl who disassociated herself last week was physically attacked by her family and so she tried to commit sucide by shooting herself.

  she's in a critical state in hospital.

  i don't know all the details but it would appear that she had endured sexual abuse.. please keep her in your thoughts.. .

  Until we get a news source, I will be a doubting Thomas. I think Mark Twain wrote "A lie can travel half-way around the world, before the truth can put its overalls and boots on, to chase after it. " There is nothing in the newswires or LN data bank. Don't take my harsh skeptical nature to strong, I like news links and news sources and don't count Facebook as a reliable newsource.

  Agreed, which is why I said 'reports of'. If any of this is accurate, the media should be picking up on it soon. The latest information on FB is that this may not have been a case of attempted suicide but rather attempted murder.

  I think it's something to keep an eye on though.
